When it comes to the very few real legends of Hollywood you would have to go back to its beginnings to know who the likes of Andy Griffith is since he was a star back in 1940. In 1926 a boy was born in America who later became one of the more common house hold names since he was a more lovable actor in some roles that really helped out his career. Andy was also a great director and producer of movies which many of the talented actors do after they have done a lot of movie work. The Andy Griffith show was one that won the American nations heart and was on all of the new TV sets that were spreading rapidly around America in the beginning of the 1960s. By this time Andy was a seasoned veteran of TV who was able to make his comedy show a big success.

Later in Life Andy Griffith became Matlock who was a crime fighting detective. The series went for many years and the followers got old like the actors until it was mostly the older generation who really watched the Matlock program in the end. From the 1980s to the late 1990s the Matlock program ran nearly every day on several of the cable TV programs. Before Matlock got off the ground there were several other movies and TV shows that Andy was a star in. No matter what he was on or where he went there was always a fan that would know who he was and start the race for popularity just because he was in this particular show. He was the voice over in the movie Frosty Winter Wonderland which is still a favorite with the kids of today. Andy just had one of those soothing voices that made great material for voice over’s. He was a famous player in more than a few murder mystery movies and shows which kept his character roles rather similar which is good if you don’t mind being stereotyped but not so good if you are looking for diversity in your acting roles.
